The PCR-Latex Test is a rapid slide agglutination test based on the Singer technique for the direct detection and semi-quantification of C-reactive protein (CRP) in serum. The determination is performed by assaying a suspension of latex coated with anti-CRP antibodies against the test sera. The presence of agglutination is indicative of an increase in the CRP level above the upper limit of the reference range of the tested samples.
