STEL3 Lysing Solution for use in the STEL3 Automatic Hematology Analyzer, for leukocyte counting and differentiation and hemoglobin determination. During lysis, the cell membrane breaks down, releasing hemoglobin. The liberated hemoglobin combines with the lysing solution to form a chromogenic compound, and its concentration is determined by the colorimetric method. Simultaneously, white cells release cytoplasm and contract; the size of the solid content, nucleus, and granules appears in different types of white blood cells. Based on the non-electrical conductivity of blood cells, STEL3 classifies white cells into three groups: lymphocytes, intermediate cells, and neutrophils by detecting changes in electrical resistance as cells pass through the cell counter.
