The diarellaPVL-MRSA real time PCR is a multiplex real time PCR for the qualitative detection and differentiation of DNA of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, PVL-negative) and methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (dropout mutant of MRSA, MS-MRSA, PVL-negative) or methicillin-resistant, coagulase-negative Staphylococci (MR-ConS, PVL-negative) and the qualitative detection and differentiation of DNA of methicillin-resistant, community-associated Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA, PVL-positive) and methicillin-sensitive, community-associated Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MSSA, PVL-positive) or methicillin-resistant coagulasenegative Staphylococci (MR-ConS, PVL-positive).
